Firefighter Theme Baby Shower Games

Rescue the Baby

• A simple game will have shower guests pretending they are firefighters trying to save a helpless baby. Before guests arrive, tape and hang red, orange and yellow crepe paper around the party room to imitate flames. Hide a baby doll somewhere in the room. When it is time for the game, explain to the guests they must search the room and act as firefighters to rescue a baby. The first person who finds the baby doll wins the game.

Don't Say "Firefighter"

• Keep guests entertained with a game they can play the whole duration of the party. String an equal amounts of safety pins on a piece of yarn creating a necklaces. As guests arrive, provide each person with a necklace. Explain to guests that they cannot say the word "Firefighter." If an attendee says the word and someone catches it, that person will be allowed to take a safety pin from the offending person's necklace and put it on hers. At the end of the party, count the number of pins on each guest's necklace. Declare the guest who has the most pins on her necklace as the winner.

Burning Fireman's Helmet

• A version of "Hot Potato" is an entertaining group game for guests. Instead of a potato, have guests pass around a plastic fireman's helmet. Have the shower guests sit in a circle. Hand the helmet to one person and turn on some music. As the guests pass the helmet around the circle, they must pretend the helmet is on fire and pass it around as quickly as possible. When the music stops, the person holding the helmet is out of the game. Continue playing until only one guest is left.

Save the Baby Kitten

• Besides rescuing people from disastrous fires, firefighters also save baby animals trapped in trees. Have guests attempt to rescue kitten stuffed animals. Tape large sheets to hula hoops to create nets, and divide guests into pairs. Provide each pair with a net. From the top of the stairs or from on top of a chair, throw down a kitten stuffed animal. Pairs must try to catch the kitten with their net. The pair that is able to catch the kitten in their net wins the game.
