How to Make a Baby Wipes Case Cover

A travel wipes case can be convenient to take care of baby when you're on the go. It helps you to save space by not having to stuff your diaper bag to the gills with a bulky box of wipes, diapers and all the other gear you need. However, most travel wipes cases are boring bits of plain plastic. You can dress them up and make them more fashionable by creating a cover.

Things You'll Need

  • Travel wipes case
  • Card stock
  • 1/4 yard cotton fabric
  • 1/4 yard batting or felt
  • 2 yards ribbon or trim
  • Hot glue gun
  • Embellishments

Instructions

    • 1

Trace the broad side of the wipes case on a piece of card stock. Cut out the shape to use as a template.

    • 2

Cut two pieces of batting or felt the same size as the template.

    • 3

Lay the template on the wrong side of the cotton fabric and add a 1/4-inch allowance all the way around the edge. Cut two pieces.

    • 4

Glue one piece of batting or felt to each side of the wipes case.

    • 5

Glue one piece of fabric to each side of the wipes case. Fold the sides over and glue them down on the edges. Be sure to tuck in the corners, just the way you would the wrapping paper on a gift.

    • 6

Glue a length of ribbon or trim all the way around the edges of the case, starting from the back of the case, covering up the raw edge of the fabric.

    • 7

Glue a button, rhinestone or other embellishment on the top of the case, if you desire.
