How to Make Teething Biscuits

- 1 very ripe banana

Stir together 1 cup of whole-wheat flour and 1 cup of dry infant rice cereal. If you prefer, you can use another type of flour, such as barley or oat flour, and you can use another type of infant cereal, like oat cereal. Mash a ripe banana in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of water. Stir the dry ingredients into the banana mixture. If the mixture is too sticky, add a bit more flour. If the mixture is too dry, add a bit more water. Add spices like cinnamon, cardamon, nutmeg or vanilla extract for variation on the basic recipe. Roll the dough onto a lightly floured surface to the desired thickness. Cut the biscuits with a cookie cutter, or use a knife to cut out your own shapes. Mind any pointy edges, which could become sharp once baked. Simply dull them with your fingers. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness you used and your oven. Biscuits that are about 1/4 inch thick should only need to cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Biscuits are done when they are golden brown. Cool completely.
