How to Leak-Proof a Diaper
Diapers leaking in the middle of the night can be a real hassle. Not only do leaks wake up a soundly sleeping baby, they also cause a lot of needless work in the middle of the night: changing the baby's diaper, pajamas, sheets and whatever else might be soiled. At 3:00 a.m., it is no fun whatsoever. Here is a quick and easy way to leak-proof your baby's diaper before they go to bed at night.
Things You'll Need
- One diaper in the size your baby wears
- One diaper one size up from what your baby wears
- Onesie
- Pajamas
Instructions
Change your baby's diaper. Make sure his or her genitalia and rear-end are clean, moisturized, powdered and have diaper rash ointment applied. You are changing your baby into his or her regular size diaper. Form a larger diaper around the diaper that is already on your baby. Affix the side tape, as though you are putting the first diaper on your infant. Slide your finger in the leg holes, making sure that the ruffled part of the diaper is sticking out. Dress your baby in the onesie, making sure the snaps are closed in the crotch area. The onesie will hold the diaper in place all night. Dress your baby in the pajamas over the onesie. You baby is now ready for bed.
