How to Make a Jogging Stroller Track Straight

If you are serious about using a jogging stroller for fitness, then you will want to get a jogging stroller that tracks straight. This feature ensures that you stay in a straight line while in motion and not need to worry about maneuvering the stroller. You can find tracking adjustment options on jogging strollers from manufacturers such as BOB.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Straight line reference point
  • Small wrench

Instructions

    • 1

Test the tracking of the jogging stroller. Find a straight line on the ground to use as a reference point and make sure the rear wheels are perpendicular to this line. You can use sidewalk lines to guide you while you make the adjustments to enable the jogging stroller to track straight. With the stroller completely empty, roll the stroller away from your body to see if the stroller pulls to the right or left.

    • 2

Rotate the front wheel axle to correct the tracking as well. You may also want to take off the wheel and flip it around to help the jogging stroller track straight. To remove the wheel, unscrew it from the mounting system at the front of the stroller. Once flipped, screw the wheel back into the mount.

    • 3

Unlatch the quick release lever of the front wheel once you have reinstalled it. Locate the wheel adjustment knobs on the right and left side of the center of the wheel.

    • 4

Turn the right knob by hand clockwise if the stroller is tracking to the right. After each full turn, retest the tracking to see if it now tracks straight. If you find it difficult to turn by hand, you can use a small wrench.

    • 5

Adjust the left wheel adjustment knob if the jogging stroller tracks to the left. Also, recheck the tracking after each full turn until it tracks straight.
