How to Attach a Peg Perego Without the Base

The Peg-Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat is designed for babies who weigh between 5 and 30 pounds and measure 30 inches or less, and should only be used rear-facing. While Peg-Perego recommends installing its infant car seat with the base to avoid mistakes in repeated installations, you can choose to install the car seat without the base. The Peg-Perego infant car seat can only be installed using the seat belt when installed without the base.

Things You'll Need

  • Peg-Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30-30 infant car seat

Instructions

    • 1

Park your car on level ground.

    • 2

Place the car seat rear-facing in the desired position in your car's back seat.

    • 3

Press the two gray buttons on the car seat handle and push handle back toward the head of the car seat. Never place the car seat handle in the carrying position while driving.

    • 4

Adjust the infant seat on the vehicle seat so that the red line on the side of the seat is parallel to the ground. Use a rolled up towel or pool noodle underneath the front of the car seat at the crease of the vehicle seat if necessary.

    • 5

Pull the lap belt up and over the car seat, threading the belt through the slots on both sides of the car seat. Buckle the seat belt.

    • 6

Press the seat down with your knee and pull the shoulder belt up to tighten the car seat. Check to be sure the red line is still parallel with the ground. If car seat moves more than 1 inch side to side, it is too loose and you must reinstall or check manual for other options.
