How to Use a Snappi

The world of cloth diapers is a vast one, with a variety of gadgets and items designed to make diapering your baby with cloth a comfortable and simple experience. The ̶0;Snappi̶1; diaper fastener eliminates potentially dangerous pins by creating a secure connection to keep a little one̵7;s diaper snug. With a collection of Snappis, you don̵7;t need to worry about diaper pins.

Things You'll Need

  • Cloth diaper
  • Snappi ̵1; sized for baby or toddler
  • Diaper cover

Instructions

    • 1

Condition the Snappi before you use it for the first time, advises the Snappi manufacturer. Doing this helps it work more effectively and last longer. Hold the Snappi in the center with one hand and grasp one loop near the end -- without touching the teeth. Pull the end out and in 10 times to soften the plastic. Repeat the same process with each of the three loops.

    • 2

Lay your baby on her back on a changing surface and place a cloth diaper in position by placing the front of the diaper against her tummy and pulling the back edges of the diaper around to the front, overlapping them over the front top edge of the diaper.

    • 3

Hold the diaper in place and place the left loop of the Snappi into the left side of the diaper so that the teeth in the loop push into the cloth of the diaper.

    • 4

Stretch the Snappi over to place the right loop into the right side of the diaper, again, pushing the teeth of the loop into the diaper.

    • 5

Pull the bottom loop straight down until the shape of the Snappi becomes a ̶0;Y̶1; and push the teeth in the loop into the diaper fabric to secure the Snappi.

    • 6

Check each loop to ensure the teeth sit firmly in the fabric of the diaper.

    • 7

Place a diaper cover over the diaper to prevent your little one from touching the Snappi.
