Does a new born baby see color?

* Newborns are born with the ability to see, but their vision is blurry and underdeveloped. Their eyes are still developing, and their brain is learning to process visual information.

* Color perception is limited. They can distinguish between light and dark, but their ability to see colors is very limited. They are most sensitive to red and green hues, and may have difficulty seeing blue and violet.

* Vision develops rapidly in the first few months. By about 2 months, babies start to see more clearly and their color perception improves. By 4 months, they can typically see most colors.

So, while newborns technically "see" color, they don't see the full spectrum like adults do. Their color vision develops gradually over the first few months of life.
