How to Make Chicken Baby Food

Buying jars of baby food can quickly become expensive. Parents can save money by making their own baby food at home. Making your own baby food also ensures that your baby is getting the freshest food possible. Once your baby has mastered vegetables and fruits, you can begin introducing meats. Chicken is an excellent meat to start with. You can even use leftover chicken from your family dinner to create a few jars of homemade baby food.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup cooked chicken
  • Measuring cup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Food processor
  • 4-oz. jars

      Cut up a piece of cooked chicken. Cut it into cubes and measure it in a measuring cup until you have 1 cup of meat.

      Dump the chicken pieces in to a food processor and click the puree button. Puree until the chicken pieces have been ground into a powder.

      Pour 1/4 cup of water in to the food processor slowly. You may not need all of it. Puree until you have mixed the chicken with the water. Don't make the pureed chicken too runny or it will be hard to feed it to your baby.

      Pour the pureed chicken in to 4-oz. jars. Store in the refrigerator or the freezer.
