How to Use a Playtex Nurser

The Playtex Nurser is an option for breastfeeding moms who want to try a bottle because the system is designed to mimic breastfeeding. The Playtex Nurser features a drop-in liner to prevent air bubbles and minimize gas for your baby. The disposable liner means less cleanup for mom and a fresh clean bottle for your baby at every feeding. The NaturaLatch nipple helps your baby latch on and feed with ease.

Things You'll Need

  • Playtex Nurser bottle
  • Playtex drop-in liners

Instructions

    • 1
Sterilize the bottle base if you wish.

Remove the lid from the bottle base. Sterilize only the bottle base by submerging in boiling water for three to five minutes (if you desire).

    • 2
Clean hands will keep the liner sanitary.

Thoroughly wash your hands and place a disposable drop-in liner into the bottle.

    • 3
Fill the bottle with the desired liquid.

Fill the Playtex Nurser with the desired amount of breast milk or formula. Choose a nipple with the appropriate flow for your baby and place in the nipple ring. Secure the nipple ring to the bottle base.

    • 4
Rubbing the bottle on your baby's cheek causes the rooting reflex, which is necessary for feeding.

Hold your baby comfortably and elevate his head slightly. Rub the nipple on his cheek. As he turns toward the bottle, place the nipple completely in his mouth.

    • 5
Removing the air bubbles can prevent painful gas for your baby.

Push up on the disposable liner from underneath the bottle to eliminate air in the breast milk or formula as your baby eats.

    • 6
No gas or cramping means a happy, sleepy baby.

Dispose of any uneaten formula or milk after your baby's feeding. Throw away the disposable liner and clean the nipple, nipple ring and bottle base in hot water prior to your baby's next feeding.
