How to Use Similac Concentrate

Similac concentrate is a liquid baby formula with some of the water removed. This decreases the amount of space the container takes up, but like condensed soup, you cannot serve this formula to your baby as it is. It must be diluted with water for your baby. Look for Similac concentrate wherever baby products are sold.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 qt. water
  • Baby bottle

Instructions

    • 1

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Boil for one minute and remove the water from heat. This sanitizes the water.

    • 2

Cool the water to room temperature.

    • 3

Shake the unopened container of Similac concentrate.

    • 4

Fill the baby bottle halfway with Similac concentrate. Pour water into the bottle to fill the bottle the rest of the way.

    • 5

Cap the bottle tightly and swirl or shake to combine the ingredients.

    • 6

Replace the cap with a nipple. Optionally, hold the bottle under lukewarm running water to gently warm the contents of the bottle. Do not microwave the formula.

    • 7

Feed the baby the formula and discard any leftover formula after one hour. Always make a fresh bottle of formula as needed and do not save extra or leftover formula.
