Baby Room Jungle Ideas

A jungle theme is perfect for a baby's room or nursery as it's fun, full of life and something that can grow with them as become older. Jungle rooms are usually designed for boys, however, a baby girl can have a jungle room as well with a few alterations in color selection, such as choosing pastels instead of brighter or darker tones.

  1. Wall Murals

    • The most important aspect in creating a jungle-themed baby's room are the walls. Paint the walls green tones to instantly create the feeling of a jungle. Then add a painted mural, stickers, decals or wallpaper of jungle animals, trees and scenery. Sponge paint the ceiling in various green tones so it looks like the jungle trees are so thick and dense they surround you.

    Animal-Skin Prints

    • Set out some animal skin or print rugs such as a cheetah print to bring some exotic and wild flavor. Do the same with the drapes or curtains so you have hints of animals prints but they don't completely overwhelm the room.

    Trees and Foliage

    • Set up some potted fake or silk trees in the corners. Hang stuffed monkeys from the trees and have stuffed animals sitting at the base of the trees. This will make for a fun, playful environment that will be sure to make any baby smile and coo. Or you can make vines out of construction paper or large-sheet butcher paper. Do this by taking large sheets of paper, crinkling them and then rolling and twisting them so they form a pole-like shape. You can twist or secure the ends of each piece of paper paper together to form a long chain. Tape or staple these to the walls so you have three-dimensional vines crossing over the ceiling and walls.

    Furniture

    • Choose bamboo-style furniture, which looks like it came straight out of the jungle and fits the theme perfectly. Or purchase a tree stump stool or toy chest. Let all your furniture appear natural.

    Bedding

    • Choose leaf-printed or animal-printed bedding for the crib. Or go with an actual jungle scene. Another good option is solid-colored bedding such as a green or brown. You can add jungle themed or printed items later as the baby grows and needs a pillow or blanket.

    Accessories

    • Purchase a tree-shaped lamp on which the lampshade looks like the leaves. Get a jungle-themed mobile with hanging fabric leaves, animals and exotic birds. Hang a small hammock in one corner of the room, and place stuffed jungle animals in it.
