Games to Play With 6-Week-Old Babies
Babies who are six weeks old are still developing their basic motor skills, strength and coordination, so true "games" are out of the question. However, lots of activities you can do with your little one will stimulate his senses, work his mind and force him to continue getting stronger.

Songs
-
Sing songs to your baby. He loves to hear the comforting sound of your voice. Use it to entertain him as well as educate him. Sing the alphabet song, sing about numbers and make up songs about anything and everything you encounter.
Visual Scavenger Hunt
-
Sit the baby on your lap or tilted in your arms so she can see the world around her. Point to objects and name them by color, description and, of course, their actual name. Then switch it around and name something before you point to it so she can start to see things from different perspectives and understand that communication is multifaceted.
Dance Duet
-
Dance around with the baby. Place him in a body carrier where he is secure and snug against your body. Then turn on some music and dance around. Be sure you don't jump or jolt too quickly, as his neck is still very fragile.
Heads Up
-
Play tummy time so she has to work on developing her arm and head muscles. Give her an added workout by dangling something in front of her face, gradually lifting it up so she is forced to raise her head and strengthen her neck muscles.
Touch and Feel
-
Give the baby items to touch and feel so he can be exposed to a wide variety of textures and begin his comprehension of what things feel like. Show him how best to touch or stroke items. Repeat the name of the item several times so the baby eventually learns that the word associates with the object. Also describe how the object feels so he can associate the adjective with the experience.
