Fall Potholder
-
A potholder will come in handy for preparing Thanksgiving dinner. Let your baby decorate an autumn-themed potholder that you can use to take food items from the oven. Purchase a plain white potholder from an art supply store. Have your baby press his small hands in fabric paint. The paint should be in warm colors of brown, red or orange to represent the fall season. Let him press his hand prints on the potholder. You can also make the hand prints resemble turkeys by drawing facial features on the hand print thumbs. Let dry. Use the potholder as a keepsake and bring it out year after year.
Fall Stencils
-
Leaves scattered around your front yard during the autumn season can be used a baby craft. Collect several of them from outside and let your baby try leaf stenciling. Place the leaves on a table. Put white construction paper over the leaves and tape it down. Show her how to use a crayon on the construction paper to bring out the leaf design underneath. Allow her to have a turn gently coloring across the paper to make her own leaf designs.
Fall Wreath
-
An autumn wreath created by your baby will serve as seasonal decoration for your wall or door. She can transform a simple paper plate into a wreath with a few materials. Cut out the center of a paper plate and paint the remaining plate brown. Let dry. Collect all kinds of fall items from your yard such as leaves and acorns. Help your baby use glue to paste the items around the paper plates. Additionally, while your baby is away or asleep, you may need to use a glue gun to secure the items in place. Let dry. Hang the wreath in a visible place in your home for her to see.
Fall Prints

Several kinds of fruits and vegetables are harvested during the fall season. Apples are a common fruit used to make several fall treats. Let your baby make prints with apple stamps. Cut an apple in half and dry the inside. Pour a small amount of tempura paint in typical apple colors like red or green in a shallow tin. Show the toddler how to dip the apple halves into paint and press them on a piece of construction paper. Continue until there are apple prints all over the paper. The middle of the apple prints will resemble stars. Let dry. Place the paper on a refrigerator door with a magnet.
