Activities for Creative Development in Infants
Games can do more for your baby than just keep her entertained. Babies can learn a lot through repetition and regular interaction. Parents can play games with their child to encourage her creative development. Consider these activities to promote creative development in your baby.

Play With Color
-
The colors you introduce to your baby can help his development. Consider letting your baby play with non-toxic markers and paints in primary colors. Introduce one color at a time by holding it where the baby can see it and saying the name. Repeat the name again before moving to the next color. Wait until you have introduced all of the colors before you start coloring or painting.
Play Music
-
Incorporate music into your baby's routine. Bath time, dressing, eating, nap time and even changing diapers can be turned into songs. Use nursery rhymes, CDs or DVDs as references for material. Hearing and singing the same song over and over may become dull for you, but the repetition will help your baby learn.
Use Household Items
-
Let your baby play with household items such as banging on pots and pans with wooden spoons. This allows them to experience using everyday items in ways they were not intended. Continue this throughout their childhood to encourage them to think outside of the box.
Go Outside
-
Your baby will need to be introduced to environments outside of the home. Stroll through the park or take an infant swimming lesson. Expose you baby to these elements to expand their view of the world. You can also consider play dates with other babies at parks or in their homes.
