Does your child aspire to be a teacher? If so, he or she will undoubtedly enjoy practicing one of the most important skills of the trade—administering pop quizzes!
First, your child reviews a topic he or she has recently studied in school. He or she might want to reread related textbooks, homework assignments, and so on. Then, the young instructor-to-be lectures the recruited "students" (family members or friends) on the subject, making sure to include all the points that will be covered on the quiz. Jotting down important facts, figures, and dates on index cards will make your child's task easier.
The junior teacher answers any questions the students may have (and looks up the answers, when appropriate), and then administers a pop quiz. Your child might choose true/false, multiple-choice, or fill-in-the-blank exams. When all the quizzes are in, your child can grade them and offer test-takers the correct answers.
So, how will your family fare when the newest teacher on the block decides to get really tough and set a time limit for taking the quiz?
