How to Design Your Own Sippy Cups

Designing your own sippy cups is a fun way to add a personal touch. Your child can drink from a cup that has their name, a design or their own artwork on it. Playtex sells sippy cups that contain an opening around the cup where you can insert paper, fabric, photos or whatever you wish in order to personalize it. It is very easy to do, and the cups are safe and affordable.

Things You'll Need

  • Playtex sippy cups
  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Paint
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Stickers
  • Fabric
  • Fraying glue
  • Embroidery service

Instructions

  1. Paper Artwork Inserts

    • 1

Pull out the paper insert the sippy cup already has in it. You will use this as a template to create your own properly sized insert with personalized artwork.

    • 2

Lay the paper insert on top of another piece of paper, and use a pencil to trace around the insert. Cut out the new insert. Test to make sure it fits properly in the sippy cup.

    • 3

Let your little one use paint, crayons, washable markers or stickers to decorate the new sippy cup insert. You may choose to add their name to their design.

    • 4

Allow the insert to dry completely. Insert it into the sippy cup and enjoy your customized sippy cup.

    Monogrammed Fabric Inserts

    • 5

Choose a type of fabric you would like in your child's sippy cup. Purchase 1/4 yard of fabric.

    • 6

Lay the paper insert from the sippy cup on the back of the fabric. Use a pencil to trace the insert template onto the fabric.

    • 7

Cut out the new fabric insert. Use fraying glue along the edges of the fabric to prevent it from fraying.

    • 8

Take the fabric to an embroidery store. They will let you pick out your thread color and font for your design. You can add your child's name or a cute design to the fabric.
