Keep Your Toddler Entertained
Choose a good time to go jogging. A toddler who has a lot of energy in the mornings might be more easily entertained in the afternoon. Also consider how much time your toddler has been in the stroller lately. If he spent a few hours in it yesterday, he's much less likely to be entertained in it for a jog today. Provide a good reason to go jogging. Your toddler doesn't care whether you fit into your pre-baby jeans, but he will care about going to the park or the library. He's more likely to be easily entertained if he gets something out of the jog too. Try jogging to story time, the local playground or anywhere else your toddler enjoys. Think of your toddler as your jogging buddy. You wouldn't listen to music if you were running with a friend, you'd talk to him or her. Do the same with your toddler. Talk about what you're seeing on the jog and sing songs together, if you need music. Bring fun snacks and drinks. For toddlers, eating is still allowed to be entertainment. So take along your toddler's favorite snacks, or get him a water bottle that's just like yours. Attach some new toys to the jogging stroller. New toys are an effective way to entertain toddlers anywhere, but it's not practical to buy new toys every time you want to go for a job. One possibility is to have certain toys that your toddler can only play with in the jogging stroller. Allow him to finally get a hold of your phone. Some brands even have cases that specifically work for toddlers, so you don't have to worry if your toddler drops the phone or tries to call your mother-in-law.
