How to Create a Day Care Center Schedule
Operating a day care center can be a great way to fulfill a passion for children. You can ensure you provide the best day care in your area by mastering the different operations involved with running a day care. This includes learning how to create a day care schedule.
Instructions
Consider the age of children in your day care. The first thing you should do when planning a schedule for your day care center is take into account what age children attend your facility. If you have multiple ages, you may need to create multiple schedules, because babies don't eat and nap at the same time toddlers or older children do. Start with meal and snack time. Keeping the children in your day care happy should be your number one goal. Children often get cranky when they are hungry, which is why it is important to break every few hours to replenish. You should begin organizing your schedule by determining when you will be serving lunch, as well as when you will have snack time. Schedule a time for naps. Right behind food in importance is naps, and the amount of time needed for a nap will vary based on what age of children you have in your day care. You should create a separate space in your day care specifically for naps, thus children will have a much easier time sleeping and not being distracting during the appointed time. Provide time to go outdoors and play. Being outdoors provides children with the freedom to run and play, which cannot always be accomplished indoors in small spaces. Just remember that safety is important when children are outside, thus you should have a fenced play area as well as age-appropriate outdoor activities. Plan for a variety of different activities throughout the remainder of the day. Once you have established the meal, snack, nap and outdoor times you can schedule the rest of the day. There should be a number of different activities that engage the children and help stimulate their brain development and growth.
