Performing Arts Workshops
-
At Performing Arts Workshops (PAW), teens age 11 to 15 spend a week in an "intensive course of study for the serious young actor in a fun and energetic camp atmosphere." After a week of learning musical, acting and many other performance skills, the teens perform in a final musical production for parents, friends and family members. The teen camp at PAW is only offered one week during the summer, so early registration is recommended. North Hollywood is one of several locations offering a summer workshop.

Camp Keystone
-
Set in the Santa Monica Mountains, Camp Keystone gives campers a traditional summer camp experience and more. Activities include horseback riding, boating, a zip line, arts and crafts, and the not-so-traditional camp activity--a "274' waterslide that winds down the mountain." Teens age 13 and 14 can join the camp's Counselor in Leadership Training, spending time working with younger kids at the camp as a camp counselor-in-training. Transportation is provided by bus from several drop-off and pick-up locations throughout the region.

Older Teens
-
Most any summer camp will have programs for older teens (age 15 and above). Summer camps need a lot of help running the summer programs and supervising younger campers. To meet these needs and provide leadership and job skills to older teens, camps will have paid counselor opportunities in addition to junior counselor and counselor-in-training programs. This allows teens to join almost any camp that interests them regardless of the camp's age restrictions. Contact the camp of your teen's choice for more information.

There is no one way to run a group home for teens, so each home has its own way of managing residents. Some group homes are composed of families who volunteer to take on a few wayward youths, while others are large facilities with 10 to 20 residents
