Games for Christian Teen Groups

Joining a Christian youth group is a popular way for teenagers to get to know others in their church and community while helping to build a strong Christian faith. These groups are usually led by a member of the church or a youth pastor. In addition to learning lessons from the Bible, teenagers in Christian youth groups also participate in community service events and well as Christian-based activities and games.

  1. Word Search Race

    • Youth group leaders or Sunday school teachers can make up a word search puzzle using the names of the authors of books in the Bible. Make several copies, then group the students up into teams. The first team to find all the words in the puzzle is the winner.

    Guess Your Name

    • Each player in this game has the name of a person from the Bible pinned on their back. No one is to know whose name they have attached to them. When the game starts, all the players mingle and visit together and ask questions of each-other until they figure out who they are. The first person to figure out who they are is the winner.

    Bible Bingo

    • To play this game, the youth group or Sunday school teacher will first need to create bingo cards with the names of people and places in the Bible, instead of numbers, making sure the names are in different order on the different cards. The call sheet should have descriptions of each person and place. To play the game, one person must read descriptions from the call sheet. For example, if "the first man" is called, anyone with "Adam" on their bingo card can cover up that space. The first person to cover a whole row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally is the winner, just like regular Bingo.

    Bible Race

    • This game can be played outside or in a large room. Place two bibles at the end of room and divide teens into two teams. Line the players up on each side and then call out a bible verse. One player from each time must race to the bibles and see who finds it first. Award points to the team who finds the correct verse first. Keep on until all players have had a chance to play, and the team with the most points is the winner.
