What Do Teenagers Do to Have Fun in British Columbia, Canada?
Teenagers in British Columbia have plenty to do, whether it's curling up with a good book on the beach or hang-gliding off a mountain's edge. Even remote mountain villages will have something to keep the curious teen entertained while the large cities are densely packed with places to explore.

Outdoors
-
British Columbia's tourism slogan is "Super, Natural British Columbia" for a reason. Much of the province is part of a temperate rainforest, which gives adventure-loving teens a huge playground. Anything from kayaking to skiing is available year-round. Even teens who like lower-key activities can enjoy activities such as paddle-boating with friends on one of the province's many lakes, camping or hanging out at the beach.
Arts
-
Teens who have an artistic bent can find plenty of inspiration from nature between the Pacific coast and the Rocky Mountains. The province's culture also supports many artistic endeavours. Evening, weekend and summer programs are available for teens, whether they want to delve into performing or visual art.
Athletics
-
Some teens can't get enough sports and will take part in whatever activity is seasonally appropriate. Hockey lovers can play hockey as soon as the weather turns cold, but will feed their hockey cravings in the summer by playing road hockey. If hockey doesn't pique their interest, there is also volleyball, basketball, tennis, football and any other mainstream sport. Team sports aren't the only option. Extreme sport activities are popular in British Columbia. Everything from rock climbing to heli-skiing is usually just a short drive away.
Struggling Teens
-
It's not easy being a teenager, so some teens are encouraged to take special programming where they get a little extra encouragement and direction. While this doesn't always fall into the "fun" category, for many teens, these extracurricular activities can have a huge effect on their lives. Some options include boot camps and wilderness programs.
