How to get a 36 on the ACT
This is an article on how to prepare for the ACT college test.
Things You'll Need
- An understanding of the following:
- ACT
- SAT
- study
- test prep
- scores
Instructions
Step 1) There are 2 standardized tests that students must take in order to get into college: the ACT or the SAT. The ACT is scored on a 36 point scale and consists of the following sections: 1)math, 2)english, 3)reading comprehension, and 4)science. The SAT does not have a science section. The first step in studying for the ACT is deciding which COLLEGES you will be applying to and looking up the median ACT test scores to get into those colleges. Step 2) The second step in studying for the ACT is setting a GOAL score for each section--math, english, science, and reading comprehension--of the ACT test. Step 3) The third step in studying for the ACT is going to your local bookstore to pick out an ACT TEST PREP BOOK. The following companies make good ACT prep books: Princeton Review, Kaplan, The Real ACT, and Mcgraw Hill. Step 4) The fourth step in studying for the ACT is deciding whether you will be using a TUTOR to help you study for the ACT or whether you will be doing the studying alone. Getting a tutor can be a expensive but many are well worth the $60 the good ones charge in an hour worth of instruction. I recommend getting a tutor to help you on a 1:1 ratio. Step 5) The fifth step is mapping out a STRATEGY to get your desired ACT test score. What will you need to do on a daily basis to get a 36 on the English section? a 36 on the math section? a 36 on the reading comprehension section? a 36 on the Science section? Be as detailed as possible in your ACT studying strategy. Step 6) The sixth step in studying for the ACT is to take a PRACTICE TEST 3 times during your studying: a) at the beginning, b) in the middle, and c) at the end. That way if your not getting your desired ACT score by the middle of your studying you can make the necessary modifications. Step 7) The seventh step in taking the ACT is Test day. I hope this has been a helpful guide in how to prepare for the ACT. Good luck! Previous:Air Force Camps for Teenagers
