    Ammonia

    • The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that pregnant women avoid hair dyes that contain ammonia, at least for the first three months. Since hair glazes do not contain ammonia, they are considered safe during pregnancy.

    Peroxide

    • Other harsh chemicals used in typical hair dyes, like peroxide, are also to be avoided, especially during the first trimester. Hair glaze does not contain peroxide either, so if you are pregnant, hair glaze should be safe to use.
