Remove the old bags first. Make sure the lid of the Diaper Genie is closed. Press the button on the top (it has a picture of scissors on it) and hold it down while twisting the knob on top. This cuts the bag. Open the top of the genie and tie the end of the bag in a knot. Close the top, and turn the Diaper Genie upside down. Open the bottom, pull out the bag, and discard. Close the bottom hatch, and turn the genie upright.
