The Safest Infant Car Seat & Stroller Travel System
All car seats that meet the standards of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) are considered safe. The administration then assesses car seats by evaluating their instructions, vehicle installation features, labels and how they secure the child. Seats are rated from one star (worst) to five stars (best) in each category as well as being given an overall score. No convertible or infant seat has an overall score of five stars, but several have four stars. There are four infant seats that have a four-star rating system in securing the child as well as an overall score of four stars. All of them have compatible strollers.

Installation
-
Install the car seat in a rear seat, never in the front. To make the car seat even safer, have installation checked by a professional. Many children's accident injuries are due to improperly installed car seats. Local police and fire departments may have weekly hours or you may need to call them for an appointment. See resources to find an inspection station near you.
Stroller Safety
-
Keep strollers safe by always following the manufacturers' guidelines; use restraints, keep the number of children appropriate, use the locks and parking breaks and don't pile the stroller with too many heavy bags.
