Fenugreek
-
Fenugreek is the most common herbal supplement that women take to increase their milk supply. It can be difficult to find the right dosage, so it is recommended to gradually increase the dose until you find that your milk supply has increased. Most women will need to take at least six capsules of fenugreek a day. You probably can stop taking the supplements once your milk supply has increased, but some women have to stay on it long term in order to maintain their milk supply. Your milk supply should start increasing within 72 hours. You might notice that your urine has a maple syrup odor to it. Additionally if you have a peanut allergy, or if you have diabetes or hypoglycemia, you should look for another type of supplement because complications can occur.
Fennel Tea
-
Fennel tea is another herb that is used to help increase milk supply. You will need to take two or three cups a day for this to work. It can increase the milk supply, but it can also be used in conjunction with other herbal remedies. Fennel tea is often used over a longer period of time and can also help with milk letdown. You may also take fennel in tablet form.
Blessed Thistle
-

Blessed thistle is considered safe to use during pregnancy and can be used in combination with other herbal remedies to increase your milk supply effectively.
