Fun Places for Teens to Go Near Lake Zurich

As a well-established residential community 37 miles from downtown Chicago, the town of Lake Zurich, Illinois, and its surrounding area provide many fun opportunities for teens. Whether you have teens who would love a day at the beach, watching a live play or having a night of indoor games, you can find it near Lake Zurich.

  1. Sports and Games

    • At Brunswick Zone Deer Park, your teens can have fun knocking down a few pins, playing a round of billiards, enjoying the arcade games and filling up on the tasty snack foods. For the avid bowlers, they can sign up for one of the many leagues available. For a few sports options, send them down to the Kits Sports Center. They can find all kinds of sports activities to play, including indoor soccer, volleyball and basketball. They can either sign up for a competitive team or simply play for fun.

    Amusement Parks and Fun Centers

    • Your daring and invincible teenagers can get a few thrills at Six Flags Chicago. It is 17 miles from Lake Zurich in Gurnee. There are upside-down roller coasters, drop zone rides, classic coasters and rides that go backward. The park also provides less-intense attractions, such as waterslides, carnival games and food courts. In Crystal Lake, which is 13 miles from Lake Zurich, you will find Xtreme Wheels Roller Skating and Family Fun Center. This roller rink features several weekly specials, such as buy-one-get-one admission deals and family nights. Located 22 miles from Lake Zurich, in Elgin, is the place for some laser tag fun. Laser Maxx has a 5,000-square-foot arena with multiple levels and glowing features.

    Beaches and Parks

    • Lake Zurich has a 41-acre recreational park called Paulus Park. Teens would enjoy spending time on the beach swimming, fishing, kayaking and sunbathing. The park also has a nature area and volleyball courts. Only 18 miles from Lake Zurich, in Highland Park, are the shores of Lake Michigan. Rosewood Park and Beach provides plenty of beach space for suntanning and swimming. The 11-acre park has many ravines and nature trails for teens who would like to do some exploring.

    Performing Arts

    • Many teens would find it fun to either be in a theatrical production or watch a live play. Located 16 miles to the east of Lake Zurich, in Lake Forest, is a theater called Center Stage. It is dedicated to developing budding actors through education, performance opportunities and fun training programs. All ages are taken in to be a part of the regular live shows that take place at the theater. In Lincolnshire, which is just 8 miles from Lake Zurich, your teens can audition at the Marriott Theatre, or just go to enjoy the show.
