Ways to Announce Your Baby's Birth
After months of waiting for the precious arrival, many parents want to tell the world that their child has finally arrived. Many new parents will hand out cigars on which is printed the gender and birth of their child, or mail a traditional card with a photo of the newborn. There are several other ways that parents can make it known to their friends and family that the newest addition to the family has been born.
-
Sweet Announcement
-
Send out an announcement that is as sweet as the newborn baby by giving friends and family members a piece of candy to commemorate the child's birth. This can come in the form of a chocolate bar that is printed with the child's name and date of birth on the wrapper. A small baggie of cookies or hard candy can also be sent in the mail or given out to friends and family, complete with a tag that houses all the pertinent information.
Paper Announcement
-
Many newspapers have a section devoted to baby announcements. The parents can let the world know that their child was born by placing an ad in this section. The announcement should be written with the child's name, birth date and time and the parents' names as well. A picture of the child can also accompany the listing to allow friends, family members and co-workers a chance to view the child.
Social Network Site
-
Social network sites, such as Facebook, Twitter or MySpace, can be used to announce the birth of the baby, by either the mother or the father. Updates about the baby's progress and pictures of the newborn can also be placed onto the site. The mother and father can also take the opportunity to share their feelings about the birth and give thanks to any friends or family members that have helped out during the pregnancy and birth.
E-mail
-
A mass birth announcement can be sent out by e-mail to friends, family members and co-workers. Details about the child's birth can be listed, along with pictures of the newborn and new family. Grandparents, close friends and family members can be sent individualized e-mails that share special or funny stories about the birth and pictures of the child as well.
