Physical Play and Games

• Jump Highway boasts over 10,000 square feet of trampolines encompassing open jump fields and foam pits. The location also offers sports fun in the form of dodgeball games and basketball dunking contests. While Jump Highway has no age limit, children will need a parent or legal guardian to sign a waiver before playing. Children under 42 inches in height have their own area for jumping in case of a crowded main area, and parents are able to keep an eye on the kids while lounging on leather furniture and taking advantage of the free wireless internet. At Scandia Family Fun Center, children can explore the arcade with over 200 games or play on one of the two miniature golf courses. Scandia Family Fun Center also provides laser tag, batting cages, bumper boats and a go-kart racetrack. For younger kids, the Center has a padded playground with plenty of opportunities for sliding and climbing. Fairfield̵7;s Driven Raceway has a similar atmosphere and offers go-karts, a miniature bowling alley and a black light miniature golf course.

Parks

• Allan Witt Park provides an aquatics center with access in warm or cold months. In addition to the lanes in the activity pool, the center has a lazy river, two 30-foot water slides and a concession area. For younger kids who are unable to swim, Allan Witt Park provides a shallow area with climbing structures and water toys right next to a lounge area. At Cordelia Community Park, children will find a skating area, multi-use open field and two separate playgrounds so toddlers and older children can play safely and on age-appropriate playscapes.

Exploration

• At the Doolittle Museum, kids are able to observe aircraft displays in an outdoor aircraft park and look at equipment and pictures inside that focus the early stages of planes and their use in different eras. The museum features interactive displays and flight simulators and offers educational programs throughout the year that are targeted toward a variety of age groups. For example, past programs for kids have included Flying History days, where visitors can get up-close views of rare planes. At the Solano Land Trust, a collection of wildlife and nature lands, kids are welcome to observe wildlife and plants in natural habitats. In addition to being open for picnics and walks, the Solano Land Trust provides activities throughout the year. Past events have included guided hikes for all ages, kite flying festivals, bird observation adventures and chances for kids to learn how to groom and lead horses.

Stories and Tours

• The Fairfield Cordelia Library opened in 2006 and contains approximately 15,600 square feet. In addition to an engaging, brightly-colored children̵7;s reading area, the library offers weekly story times for children with no registration necessary. Parents can take part in designated story times for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and entire families. The library also has various learning programs on weekday mornings, with chances to learn about topics like science and gardening. Meanwhile, at the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, kids can embark on a guided 40-minute tour that shows kids the ins and outs of making jelly beans in over 150 flavors. Reservations for the Jelly Belly tour are not required, and the location also has a candy store where everyone can find something sweet to try.
