Airport Playhouse

The Airport Playhouse is a nonprofit, professional theatre on Long Island. Every year the Airport Playhouse puts on ten full theatrical productions as well as several children's shows. Children's shows have included Peter Rabbit and the Wizard of Oz. The theater also does educational shows for school age children, designed to give them a greater understanding of how a theater production works. The educational shows can be held either at the Airport Playhouse or on site at a school.

If you are looking for something active yet still indoors, Fun 4All offers a half acre of play equipment for children. Children can play on inflatable slides, obstacle courses, bounce houses, tree houses, tunnels, and more. Fun 4All recommends bringing children from ages 2 to 12. There are toddlers and preschooler areas designed for younger children. The entire indoor area is air conditioned, making for cool playtime in the hot weather. If you want to go to Fun 4All on a regular basis, memberships are available for sale to make frequent visits more affordable.

Long Island Game Farm

For a trip more on the wild side, take your kids to the Long Island Game Farm. Visitors hike along nature trails that lead to exhibits of over 75 kinds of exotic and domestic animals. A petting zoo, where kids can pet young animals, and a nursery where baby animals are visible helps bring the animal experience to a personal level for curious kids. The Long Island Game Farm has a wide variety of animals, including cougars, lemurs, alligators, kangaroos, giraffes, tigers, goats, and peacocks.
