6 Sweet Gestures for Teacher Appreciation Week
Write a Letter of Appreciation
A handwritten letter is always appreciated! Have your child write a short letter outlining the reasons she likes being in her teacher's classroom. These free printable thank-you cards for teachers are also a great way to show your child's gratitude.
Draw a Heartfelt Card
Kid-made cards are adorable, and your child's teacher will love displaying them in his classroom. Fold a piece of paper in half and have your child decorate the front cover. Ask him to write a note on the inside and sign his name. Laminate the card to make it a lasting memento.
Donate a Book for the Classroom Library
No classroom can ever have enough books! Coordinate with your child's class and ask everyone to donate a new or used book to the classroom library. Choose from one of these childhood classics, or browse our Book Finder for new must-read books.
Create a Class Scrapbook
Ask each student in your child's class to design a page for a class scrapbook. Each page can include pictures, mementos, and favorite memories from the school year. Bind the pages together to create a scrapbook. The cover of the scrapbook can include a class picture, or a laminated page with all of the students' names and signatures.
Sign a Class Photo
Ask your child's classmates to sign their name on their class photo, and frame it as a sweet memento for your child's teacher to remember her students by.
Deliver Treats to the Teachers' Lounge
Sweet treats are always appreciated. Bake your favorite dessert and deliver it to the teachers' lounge for all of the school's staff to enjoy during their lunch break. Coordinate with other parents so there is a different dessert for each day during Teacher Appreciation Week.
