Materials

  • Dried pasta
  • Bowls
  • Measuring cups
  • Mixing spoons

Directions

  1. Give your child containers filled with various sizes and shapes of dried pasta, such as macaroni, rotini, shells, and so on.
  2. Add a few empty bowls, measuring cups, and a mixing spoon or two, and let your child measure, mix, and match.
  3. If you like, give your child string and let him make necklaces, bracelets, ornaments, and other objects. (Supervise young children to avoid strangulation.)
  4. For a variation, try using cereal, dried beans or rice in place of pasta.
