Make an Elephant!

Materials needed:

  • Paper plates
  • Gray crayons or paint
  • Construction paper in assorted colors
  • Glue

    What to do

    Step One  Have your child paint or color four paper plates gray.

    Step Two  Trace an outline of her hands on the two remaining plates.

    Step Three  Cut out the trace. This will be used for the ears.

    Step Four  Trace an an outline(lengthwise) of a toilet paper roll onto grey construction paper and cut it out. She can also use white paper and paint it grey. This will be the elephant's trunk.

    Step Five  Next, glue one hand cutout to each side of the paper plate for the elephant's ears.

    Step Six  Then glue the the trunk to the middle of the plate.

    Step Seven  Cut out some eyes and a mouth from construction paper and glue them on.

    Step Eight  Align the face of the elephant on top of the remaining colored plate so that they overlap and glue it in place.

    Step Nine  Cut out a tail and legs and glue them to the rest of the body.
