Good Exercise Moves for Children

There are many exercise movements children can do to improve their physical fitness. Such moves can benefit their health and well-being. These movements help improve strength, balance, and muscle tone. Not only is exercise is a great way for children to deal with all the physical and social changes they endure, it's also a good way for them to gain confidence and feel better about themselves. Kids should do about an hour of exercise every day.

Healthy Children says it is important for children to do these exercises two to three times a week, for about 20 minutes a session.

While balancing on the ball, the child lifts one foot approximately ten inches and then places it down and lifts the other foot. For every repetition, each foot should remain lifted for about ten seconds. This exercise is great for strengthening abdominal muscles and increasing a child's balance.
