Autism Programs in New Jersey

As of 2010, autism affects 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys in the U.S., according to Autism Speaks.org. Finding the right program for your child can be a challenge because each individual diagnosed with a disorder on the autism spectrum may display varying levels of ability. Choosing the right help--whether it be a full immersion program or an after-school program that meets once or twice a week--will take time and patience.

  1. The Allegro School

    • The Allegro School serves just over 100 students in New Jersey and focuses on continued care, instruction and counseling for each individual with autism. The program's intent is to provide progressive care and instruction that allows individuals with autism the ability to expand their opportunities for fulfillment.

    The Eden Institute

    • The Eden Institute has offered small group and classroom instruction for students with autism since 1975. An emphasis is placed on the individual by keeping a low student-to-teacher ratio. In most cases, one-on one-instruction is offered. Year-round supplemental programs are available to adjust and grow with each student.

    The Garden Academy

    • The Garden Academy was created in 2004 as a private school offering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs. Its entire curriculum is based on ABA, with a strong emphasis on communication and social skill awareness.
