New Year's Eve Celebrations

Katy offers a few options for families who would like to ring in the New Year but don't want to stay up until midnight. The Downtown Aquarium in Houston hosts an afternoon family friendly New Year's Eve celebration that includes a balloon drop. "Sharkey's New Year's Eve Party" includes a buffet-style dinner, contests, crafting activities, live music and more. Kids can also explore the aquarium itself, which features hundreds of fish and other sea creatures.
The Children's Museum, also in Houston, hosts a ball drop at noon that includes a celebration with a New Orleans style brass band, DJ, parade and crafts. Kids can also explore the exhibits at the museum before they head home.
