Instructions on How to Use a Baby Bjorn Carrier
The BabyBjorn is a Swedish baby carrier that has been a popular choice with parents for 35 years. It is ergonomically designed and allows for hands-free comfort, both indoors and out, while keeping the baby safe and close to the parent. It also allows for maximum parent-child bonding. It is easy to use and safe, as long as the instructions are followed carefully. BabyBjorn carriers are also versatile. Infants are carried facing in, but as the baby ages, and is able to support his head and neck on his own, he may be carried in the forward-facing position, allowing him to see the world.
Instructions
Putting Baby into Carrier
Put on the shoulder straps with the BabyBjorn logo on the left shoulder and the sliding buckle clips pointing downward. The crossing of the straps, located on the back, should be at the bottom of the shoulder blades. Adjust the sliding buckle to the appropriate length for the child, according to the adjustment label; approximately 21 to 23.5 inches in length for an infant. Attach the sliding buckle clips on each strap to the sliding buckle on the front piece. Slide one side latch into the corresponding side latch groove until you hear a click. It may help to angle the latch before sliding. Place your baby into the baby carrier on the open side, being sure to hold the baby closely until the carrier is a completely latched. Ensure both arms of the baby are in the armholes for maximum support. Then, slide the unconnected side latch into the corresponding side latch groove until a click is heard. Attach the head support buckles on both sides and pull the head support straps to secure proper support for the baby. Ensure there is enough room between you and the baby for fresh air. If the infant is between eight and 11 pounds, attached the leg straps, on both sides, to the corresponding buttons. While lifting the baby, pull forward each side strap, one at a time, until he is close and high up on your chest. When the baby is situated correctly, you should be able to easily kiss the top of his head. Removing Baby
Lift the head support buckle, while pressing the buckle with your index finger and thumb. Be sure to secure the baby during the entire removal process. Unfasten the side latches and leg straps, one or both sides at a time. Allow baby to fall forward and remove him from the carrier. Press the sliding buckle clips, remove them from the sliding buckle and remove the front piece.
