Things You'll Need
- Instruction manual for stroller
Instructions
Read all of the paperwork that came with the stroller, if you have it. Find the model type on the stickers and labels on the stroller itself if you do not have the instruction manual. Contact Safety First and they will provide it for free. Get to know your stroller before using it to prevent possible accidents and malfunctions, which could cause injury. Squeeze the handles on each side of the stroller to fold and unfold it. Open the stroller until you hear it lock into place. Squeeze the handles again to fold the stroller back up. Check the brakes on the stroller by testing them. Push the brake pedal or lever down then try to move the stroller, watching to see if the wheels are turning or not. Do not use a stroller that does not have good brakes to prevent the stroller from accidentally rolling away. If you are using a car seat with the stroller, set it into a 3 in 1 stroller, and push down until you hear the seat click into place. Check to ensure it is locked by pulling up on the car seat slightly. Check all safety belts in the car seat, and in the stroller to ensure they are connected properly and not damaged. Adjust the belts to fit your baby. Use the belts each and every time you put your baby in the stroller or car seat. Supervise your baby whenever you are using the stroller. Check the stroller often for loose screws, broken parts, etc., and replace it if it should become damaged.
