      Check that the small, flexible white membrane is clean and lies flat against the yellow valve that deposits the milk into the bottle.

      Push the stem assembly into the pump handle until it will go no further.

      Ensure that the white O-ring is in place inside the stem handle.

      Twist the pump body to make sure it is securely screwed in place on the bottle.
