How to Make a Cloth Diaper Wipes Solution
If you're an environmentally friendly mama or you just don't want the chemicals from packaged diaper wipes touching your baby's skin, you can make your own solutions at home to use with cloth diapers to cater to your baby's needs. You can use a basic solution for everyday cleansing during diaper changes, make a soothing moisturizing solution for dry skin, or if you̵7;re concerned about your baby developing a diaper rash, switch to a gentle, anti-fungal diaper wipe solution to help stave off the development of yeast.
Things You'll Need
- Baby oil
- Sealable container
- Natural baby body wash
- Distilled water
- Aloe vera gel
- Olive oil
- Calendula oil
- Vitamin E
- Liquid castile soap
- Tea tree oil
- Lavender essential oil
Instructions
Baby Bum Basics
Pour 1/2 cup of baby oil in a sealable container. Pour 1/2 cup of natural baby body wash into the container and mix gently. Add two cups of distilled water to the mixture and stir gently. Seal the container with the lid and store at room temperature in between uses. Soothing Solutions
Pour 2 cups of distilled water into a container and add 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel. Pour in 1 tbsp. of olive oil and 1 tbsp. calendula oil. Add 1 ml of vitamin E and 2 tbsp. of liquid castile soap. Stir all of the ingredients together, seal the lid and store in the refrigerator in between uses. Anti-Fungal Wipes
Pour 2 cups of distilled water into a sealable container. Add 3 drops of tea tree oil and mix gently. Measure out the 3 drops carefully; tea tree oil has a strong odor and is the anti-fungal ingredient in the solution. Pour in 3 to 5 drops of lavender oil and 1 tbsp. of calendula oil. Add 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel and 2 tsp. of baby body wash. Mix the solution gently, seal the container with a lid and store in the fridge in between uses.
